Peels come under a category called collagen induction treatment or CIT. Here we give a controlled injury to the skin and in response to the injury; the skin heals by forming new cells, collagen and elastin. Your skin is first thoroughly cleansed, and then 1-2 coats of the peeling agent are applied on the skin uniformly. You may experience mild tingling or burning sensation during the procedure. Depending on the kind of peels we are using, it is either neutralised after a few minutes or left on the face for a few hours.

After the peel, some patients may have mild redness which settles in a few hours. The skin may feel a little tighter & mild peeling may be noticed in a few days following the peel.

After the peel the skin becomes sensitive, so one should keep few points in mind:-

• Avoid direct sun exposure.
• Avoid picking or scratching at peeling site
• Use a moisturiser because the skin becomes very dry after peel
• Avoid exercise for 24 hours as sweating cause stinging sensation to the skin.
• Use mild face wash to wash face.
• Follow up is a must to see the condition of the skin.
